FlexIQ Workshop 2026: Data, Flexibility and a Socially Just Energy Transition

Energy-related data can help activate demand flexibility, but data availability alone does not guarantee an effective or socially just energy transition. FlexIQ, a KU Leuven-funded research project, will bring together academic, technical, economic, legal, industry and societal perspectives to examine what is needed to turn data into workable flexibility solutions.

Why this workshop?

Energy-related data can help activate demand flexibility, but data availability alone does not guarantee an effective or socially just energy transition. FlexIQ, a KU Leuven-funded research project, will bring together academic, technical, economic, legal, industry and societal perspectives to examine what is needed to turn data into workable flexibility solutions.

Themes in focus

  • Residential demand flexibility and the role of energy data and their regulation at the EU level
  • Hosting capacity and network-aware flexibility utilization under uncertainty
  • Incentives, predictive models, access and control over to data
  • Technical, economic and legal perspectives on a socially just transition
  • Choice experiments and the behaviour of energy users

What to expect
