It has been a tradition for over 15 years to organize an HVDC colloquium, a 2–3 day workshop for researchers in the field of HVDC and offshore wind technology.
This event originated from the original European project MEDOW consortium. The founding members are UPC Barcelona, DTU Copenhagen, Cardiff University, Imperial College London, the University of Porto, and KU Leuven. This colloquium has offered both young and more experienced researchers the opportunity to present their work, engage in discussions, and network with their peers. It has been characterized by an open and informal atmosphere, where junior and senior researchers (including professors!) actively attend and participate.
This tradition has been very successful, and many researchers have fond memories of both the technical and non‑technical discussions.
This year, we are pleased to welcome Oriol Gomis (UPC) and Nicolò Cutululis (DTU) as the scientific committee. This edition is not only open to the traditional HVDC colloquium members but also to a broader audience.
We would therefore like to invite you and the researchers in your team to join us for the upcoming HVDC colloquium, which will be held in Leuven, Belgium, from 18–20 March 2026.
